INCREASE IN PUMP TEMPERATURE – CASE STUDY

Detected a continuing trend of an ongoing increase in pump temperature from 20 °C to 50 °C. The main concern is a failure of the acrylic acid pump, which stops production.

MAINTENANCE TEAM FINDINGS

Following the SAMGUARD® alert, the plant found that the temperature indicator measures the wrong temperature, and instead of measuring the pump temperature it measures the ambient temperature inside a water bottle.
