EVENT REPORTED by SAM GUARD®

SAM GUARD® has detected a real-time Increasing in the presence of hydrocarbons in the condensate. This is a major concern since the control room wasn’t aware that there is an increase of the hydrocarbons in the condensate which can lead to an explosion.

MAINTENANCE TEAM FINDINGS

Following the SAMGUARD® alert, the plant team changed the set for alarm from 5000 to 2500 to get notifications on time.

COST / DOWNTIME AVOIDED

The high presence of hydrocarbons in the condensate can cause ignition and explosion once the contaminated condensate is in contact with the explosives. The plant team wasn’t aware of that situation and only Followed SAM GUARD® alert they took an action and fix the values in the control room.
