PUMP LEAKAGE – CASE STUDY

• Detected a problem with a temperature increase in a pump which was monitoring the pumps mechanical seal.
• There were three pumps in operation and the issue was with Pump C as the temperature increased from 30°C on 15.08.22 and immediately was alerted.

MAINTENANCE TEAM FINDINGS

Mechanical seals ensures that the pumped media cannot escape, and the issue was prominent for the plant engineers to do an on-site inspection. 

On the inspection, the defective seal was replaced.

COST / DOWNTIME AVOIDED

Earlier alert helped with easier planning of repairs by planned communication to the maintenance team and minimal impact on plant operation.
